Installation an operating instructions
The ML50 1/2 "tonearm lift from MAGAUDIO has a shaft size of ø12.7 mm. It can be inserted into a ø12.8 mm hole on the tonearm extension and fastened with a clamping screw. The installation height of the lift can be adjusted within the available shaft length. The sling bar must be removed for installation (3 mm Allen key).
The stroke of the piston is 2.5 mm. This is operated via a sling bar, which has a lowering protection in the upper position. This prevents the arm from lowering unintentionally. The lift should be installed so that the upper position corresponds to the lower edge of the tone arm ear.
The reciprocating piston can be pulled out freely without tools and serviced. We recommend silicone oil with a viscosity of 5000 cst. A different viscosity can also be used to influence the lowering speed. E.g. 10,000 cst. for a slower lowering. Silicone oils are available commercially in many different grades. The oil should be applied thinly to the piston with a small flat brush. The rings on the piston are oil chambers and are used to hold the stripped oil. The sling bar has a support length of 40 mm. This also enables larger swivel radii, as is the case with 9 inch arms. The sling bar can be freely adjusted in its position. The lift lifter can be removed using the M2 stud screw on the bottom. The screw-in depth can influence both the lower and the upper end position. It is advisable to re-oil the rotary jack at the bearings from time to time. Note: Please do not overtighten the clamping screw of the lift. This can press the lift housing together slightly, so that the piston moves more difficult or sometimes not at all. This is not a defect, because in this way the lowering speed can also be influenced if necessary. However, this is mainly achieved with oil.
